The Hunt for the Resource Banners Begins

Three unique Resource Banners introduce a new reason to explore the frontier and watch other travelers. These valuable items improve gathering and can change hands when players meet.

Silver, gold, and green resource banners hang above the frontier.

Claim the Range has gained its first major set of unique, transferable resource items.

The Resource Banner milestone introduces three distinct banners: Silver, Gold, and Greenhorn.

Each banner provides a gathering advantage to its current holder, creating an additional layer of strategy around resource collection.

Unlike ordinary inventory items, Resource Banners are unique. Each exists as a single item in the world, and a player can carry only one at a time.

The banners also introduce an interesting interaction between players.

A banner can be taken when another player reaches the same location as its holder, making travel and encounters relevant to more than simply moving around the map.

This creates a different kind of competition. A player carrying a valuable banner gains an economic advantage but also has something another traveler may want.

The system includes persistent ownership records, ensuring that transfers are properly tracked as banners move between players.

Their visual presentation has also been integrated into the main location artwork, allowing players to recognize carried and locally available banners without navigating a separate inventory screen.

Resource Banners represent an important step toward making the frontier feel interconnected.

What one player discovers or carries can now become an opportunity for someone else.
