The First Players Arrive on the Range
The player-account foundation is complete. Registration, login, and persistent player identities mark an important step toward turning the frontier into a world that people can actually inhabit.
A world of 40,000 locations doesn't mean much without people to explore it.
The latest development milestone introduces the first player-account system for Claim the Range.
Players now have the foundations needed to create an account, sign in, and maintain an identity within the game. Registration, login, account information, and logout have all been brought together into an initial working experience.
The system has been designed around persistent accounts rather than temporary browser activity. A player's identity needs to remain consistent across sessions so that progress, ownership, resources, and future interactions can be associated with the correct account.
Security has also been part of the work from the beginning. Password handling, session management, and account validation are being developed alongside the gameplay rather than postponed until the end.
At this stage, the account system is a foundation rather than a complete game. The next pieces will connect players to the world through permanent Fort ownership, roaming positions, and movement.
Even so, this represents an important change.
Claim the Range now has the beginnings of a persistent player identity system, bringing the project one step closer to an inhabited frontier.
