Testing Claim the Range for Launch Capacity
Representative capacity testing measured how the game behaves under realistic concurrent activity before launch.
Preparing a multiplayer game for public release means understanding how it behaves when many people are active at once. Earlier performance work gave us a faster baseline; this milestone focused on practical launch capacity.
We tested mixed, realistic player activity rather than asking simulated players to repeat one action as quickly as possible. The workload covered normal navigation, movement, gathering, and other common requests while the server and database were monitored.
The representative 100-player run completed without request failures and preserved the expected game data. Memory and database behavior remained healthy. A separate deliberately aggressive movement test also showed where application processing begins to saturate.
That combination gave us something more useful than a headline number: a measured starting point, deliberate operating headroom, and clearer signals for when the live server may eventually need more capacity.
