Raising an Army: Training Camps Come to the Frontier
The first army recruitment system is complete. Players can claim Training Camps, manage their capacity, and recruit Raid and Guard units as Claim the Range moves toward its larger military systems.
Claim the Range has reached a major development milestone with the introduction of Training Camps and ordinary army recruitment.
Across the frontier, 3,200 Training Camps provide opportunities for players to establish control over the locations needed to build their forces.
A player can control up to five camps, each with its own available training capacity.
Capacity replenishes over time, creating an ongoing resource that must be considered when recruiting additional units.
The recruitment system also introduces the game's two ordinary military forces: Raid and Guard.
Each force has its own twelve-unit roster, giving players a variety of unit types to consider when building their armies.
Recruitment is managed through a dedicated Forces interface, which combines the available training capacity of a player's controlled camps.
Players can propose recruitment quantities, review their resource requirements, and create units immediately when the purchase is confirmed.
The system does not require players to wait through a traditional unit-production queue.
This milestone establishes the foundations for long-term army development while connecting military progression directly to the existing Gold and Supplies economy.
Training Camps also introduce a new form of location ownership. Unlike permanent player Forts, these are temporary strategic locations that players can claim, control, and release.
With recruitment now in place, the frontier has the foundation needed for the combat systems that will follow.
