Giving the Frontier Its Western Identity

The first major visual-design milestone brings location artwork, Fort illustrations, and a complete Western interface to Claim the Range. The Rusted Spur also receives its official name.

Claim the Range is beginning to look like the game it was envisioned to become.

An important visual milestone has introduced the first complete desktop interface and integrated the game's location artwork into the actual player experience.

The design uses a Western-inspired combination of dark leather, weathered wood, aged brass, blackened iron, and cinematic landscapes.

The intention is to create something more atmospheric than a conventional collection of browser forms and buttons, without sacrificing the speed and readability expected from a strategy game.

The updated layout places location artwork at the center of the experience, with player information on one side and movement controls on the other.

A collection of sixteen location scenes and nine distinct Fort illustrations has also been prepared and integrated as the game's initial artwork family.

Another important decision was finalized during this milestone: the neutral settlement at coordinate 1,1 officially became The Rusted Spur.

The Rusted Spur gives the world a recognizable starting landmark and establishes a visual reference for the game's wider Western setting.

This milestone isn't just about making the interface more attractive. It establishes the visual direction that future locations, services, and gameplay systems will build upon.
